The B&B II Masso Grasso in Nesso, Como (Italy) is nestled within a village with ancient stone stairs, mountain fresh air and breathtaking views. I visited back in March 2022 for one week in one (of two rooms available), each with access to the balcony to relax from a day's worth of exploring: taking the C30 from an afternoon in Bellagio or the Trainline returning from Milano Centrale. There is internet access if you need. Breakfast prepared daily by Davide - coffee and freshly baked pastries to jump start your morning. Quiet, clean, comfortable, and friendly, helpful hosts. You will leave happy and looking at your calendar to see when you can return!

I LOVED this place! I would love to stay longer if I could. The house is elegant and my room (the red room) is lovely and comfortable. Having breakfast on the balcony while enjoying the lake view is the perfect start of my day. The homemade cake for the breakfast was so delicious. Nesso is a peaceful gorgeous village with beautiful waterfall, river, bridges. Davide is a superb host and it was a great pleasure to chat with him. I had a great stay at Masso Grasso, and wished I had planned longer time there. I will surely stay here again when I come back to Lake Como next time!

We had a great stay in Nesso. This peaceful little village offers stunning views and some tucked-away spots to take a swim in the lake. It's the perfect place if you want to enjoy Lake Como and it's surroundings in an authentic way, away from the crowds. Il Masso Grasso is a lovely house where you immediately feel at home. Decorated with lot's of antique and with attention to detail. The room was comfortable and the terrace offers great views. Waking up with the calming sound of the creek is a bonus and worth noting. The hosts Ettore and Davide are really helpful and gave us plenty of tips on what to do. Highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a place to stay on Lake Como!

The true experience of village living in Italy at Masso Grasso. House is located high above Lake Como in a historic terraced village setting. Directions were a little sketchy making our arrival somewhat stressful. The streets are extremely narrow and steep making navigating with a full size car difficult. We found the Municipal parking area about 400yds from the house and hauled our wheelie cases along the cobbled road to the house (this was not mentioned in the listing). There are a number of steps to navigate along the way so this would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The house itself is quite lovely with two rooms on the upper level opening to a shared balcony that overlooks Lake Como down below. There is only one table and 2 chairs for guests on the balcony. There is a shared common dining room for breakfast. The bed room itself was on the smallish side but was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was attached and is quite small and poorly arranged but adequate, shower worked well, - nice large window. The walk down the municipal steps to the Pizza restaurant and where the bridge on the main road is easy going down and quite a challenge coming up, esp after a full meal. We stayed 2 nights in the Red room and would say it was a good stay, except for the locational difficulties noted above. Davide the host was very welcoming and friendly, offering a lot of useful local information. The breakfast fare was basic. We enjoyed exploring the location, Belagio up the road, Como down the lake and Brunate up the funicular.

Posto spettacolare suggestivo a dir poco. Camere pulite,servizio e colazione fantastiche. Vista sul lago mozzafiato. Il rumore della cascata che ti sveglia al mattino è paradisiaco. Fare colazione sul terrazzino, con le meravigliose torte preparate da Davide ti fa davvero partire la giornata col piede giusto e buon umore. Consigliatissimo!!!

We stayed in Il masso grasso one night and were best taken care of with a guided tour in Nesso by Ettore and suggestions where to go and what to eat. In the morning we were welcomed by a grand breakfast and got even more help from Ettore with transport since the bus we planned to take didn't go. Stay here if you're looking for a genuine experience. The house is built on a huge rock and you can fall asleep listening to a waterfall coming down from the mountain. It's just beautiful and the hospitality was the best we've had on all our trip. Warmly recommend it to anyone.

La struttura é costruita in parte su un masso,da qui il nome. La casa,antica e affascinante é stata ristrutturata dal proprietario con stile,gusto e originalità: il pavimento del bagno al piano terra per esempio é opera di Ettore che con estro e fantasia ha creato un mosaico degno di plauso! Mantenendo la sua particolaritá: pavinenti in listoni nelle camere ad esempio, pareti affrescate da una pittrice del luogo Patrizia Azimonti, quadri e oggeti antichi, regala a chi vi soggiorna una vacanza non solo per il fisico ma anche per la mente. Il fiume Tuf,che scorre lungo la casa a pochi metri, regala sogni d'oro. Buon soggiorno Alessio Ciapparella

Mi sono lasciata coinvolgere dalle recensioni e dalle foto, ma non è tutto oro ciò che luccica.||Il luogo incantevole su questo nessun dubbio. Non c'è stata accoglienza, ma solo comunicazione sul dove trovare le chiavi. Siamo arrivati nel tardo pomeriggio e nella sala d'ingresso sul tavolo ancora le stoviglie e gli avanzi di colazione dei clienti precedenti. In camera sui tavolini polvere e macchie appiccicose che ho pulito e il servizio al primo piano non propriamente lindo.La colazione al mattino ha lasciato molto a desiderare. Nel frigo a disposizione 4/5 succhi aperti (da quanto?) e confezioni di latte,almeno due aperte pure quelle, una torta non propriamente fresca, caffè in cialde e yogurt. Ecco ci può stare in un ostello e ci si adatta senza problemi (da camminatrice di ostelli rifugi e stanze comuni ne ho frequentate) ma un b&b forse qualcosa di più lo può offrire. Mi spiace solo non aver mai visto il proprietario. Peccato il luogo merita basterebbe fare un saltino di qualità! Non mi sento di consigliarlo.
