Only stayed here for 2 nights, and I'm 100% coming back! It was a last minute decision to come here, and they were really accommodating. The location is an absolute dream, with a constant pleasant air of ambient sounds and a really beautiful balcony overlooking the restaurants and towns and boats crossing Garda. The rooms were clean and comfy, but the best part for us were the owners! It's a family owned hotel and they were genuinely the nicest people to talk to and had so many good tips and interesting stories. They make the hotel what it is, and I'd recommend anyone to go there 🙂

I only make the time to write reviews for my personal stays when the experience is either exceptional or unsatisfactory. My personal travel is on a budget, but because I’ve got used to the 5 Star hotel experience, I always try to look for a hotel with a wow factor...the more trips I take, the harder it seems to get to be truly wowed. However, at the Hotel Garni Riviera, we received THE BEST SERVICE and elements of the hotel truly had a WOW FACTOR, so I felt compelled to write a review!||WHAT’S GREAT:||1- THE FRIENDLY SERVICE - THANK YOU EDUARDO!||Eduardo is the nephew of the hotel owner. We always found him at the hotel reception ready to help with anything from unloading luggage (it was hot, hot, hot, but he helped with a smile in his best linen shirt!), advising on parking (he provided directions and a permit for €3 a day), advice on ferries (he helped us translate the timetable, advised on best places to visit, and gave us a discount voucher), he helped with restaurant reservations (it was our son’s birthday and we hadn’t realised most places get fully booked). and he even helped us recharge our fans (when we’d foolishly brought the wrong adapters). With theses and many other things, Eduardo truly went over and above to ensure we had a great stay.||2- LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!||The hotel has a prime lakefront position in the beautiful little town of Gardnano (we loved north Garda more than the touristy south - maybe the time of year would make a difference to that opinion?). There is a large first-floor terrace/balcony that overlooks the lake with amazing views. You can have your breakfast on the terrace (complimentary if you book your stay directly with the hotel, or pay €7 per person locally). We loved sitting on the shady terrace in the early evening (it has no food/drink service but you can bring a drink up from the hotel’s cute little indoor bar located downstairs).||3- THE HOTEL IS IN GOOD REPAIR AND KEPT IMMACULATELY CLEAN ||4- IT HAS A LIFT AND IS RELATIVELY WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ||I found Gianfranco very quick to respond to my pre-booking questions about accessibility.|||DO I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL? ||100% YES!||If you’re looking for an efficiently run and extremely friendly, family run hotel - I highly recommend this hotel, which deserves 10 stars for service. ||IN SUMMARY:||This is a traditional, family run. 2 Star hotel, in an AMAZING LAKEFRONT LOCATION.||Do your research on the hotel before you make a decision to book. If you want air conditioning, sound-proofed rooms, secure on-site parking, and 24-hour room service then the Garni Riviera is unlikely to meet your needs. BUT, if you’re happy to sleep with your balcony doors open (there were NO BUGS OR MOSQUITOS so we found having fresh air rather than aircon a nice experience), have a sense of humour about the noise of the church bells and Italian fun happening in the street below,, are happy to park less than 100-metres away and walk only a few steps back to the hotel and some amazing restaurant and bars, then this hotel will provide happy Italian memories to savour for many years!!||I’m writing this review as I head to Como for a €1600 a night 5 Star hotel. This next hotel will naturally beat the Garni Riviera on facilities…but will their SERVICE and WOW FACTOR LOCATION live up to Eduardo and Gianfranco’s I sincerely hope so for the €1500 a night price difference!!

Our room had a mountain (street) view, which worked well for us, especially with the communal terrace available. (A hiking couple who spent two nights on Lago di Garda) Pretty sure we were the only Americans, but we were welcomed by this clean, perfectly located, family-run garni.

Struttura deliziosa in posto incantevole. Le stanze sono pulite, confortevoli e carine. I gestori delle persone gentilissime. Buona anche la colazione. Terrazza sul lago sempre aperta . Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Very nice place to stay, historical building in the town. The owners are awesome and very heartwarming. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Beautiful terrazzo with panorama views. Perfect service, perfect location in the centre. I recommend this accommodation for each. Thank you!

Ottimo albergo ottima posizione
I proprietari sono molto accoglienti e attenti anche alle minime esigenze
Si respira aria di casa, ma anche di grande professionalità. La colazione è molto ricca e varia e vale davvero la pena.
Lasciare la splendida terrazza a disposizione dei clienti in qualunque ora è un'attenzione e una fiducia in più verso il cliente.
Ottima anche la pulizia delle camere.
Strategica la soluzione del parcheggio.
È bello scendere dalle scale e sapere di poter chiacchierare e ascoltare i consigli dei proprietari.
